The transformation of a neglected attic space of 150 m² in Prague 1 – Hradčany into luxurious office premises with a strong emphasis on interior detailing and the quality of materials used was commissioned by a small Czech company with international operations.
The entire office concept had to meet the highest standards of contemporary workplace design for a team of at least eight employees. Through a well-considered and structurally demanding reconstruction of the attic, a maximally open layout with a light, airy space and a gallery was achieved.
The project also included improving natural lighting, mainly by adding eight new skylights oriented toward the courtyard. An integral part of the brief was the installation of new hot and cold water systems, sewage, electrical wiring, underfloor heating, air conditioning, and structured low-voltage cabling that allows flexible workstation arrangements and future expansion of the team.
Several Czech construction companies, technology suppliers, and interior specialists collaborated on the realization. The dominant materials include natural wood, clear glass, and metal. Additional materials such as engineered stone, compact boards, laminates, metal laminates, large-format ceramic tiles, and vinyl flooring were used.
In the central area, the vinyl floor features an inlaid pattern in the shape of the company’s logo. A key condition for approving the architectural design was to create a color-coordinated concept that evokes a pleasant, almost homely atmosphere. The centerpiece of the entire space is a handcrafted, custom-made crystal clock in the shape of the company logo, produced by the renowned glassmakers of Nový Bor.
